Simplon is expanding its product portfolio with a new city bike for everyday urban use. The Grid 365 is aimed at commuters and city cyclists who are looking for a versatile and comfortable bike for everyday use.
The frame is made of carbon and, according to the manufacturer, should offer a good balance of dynamics and riding comfort. With a tyre width of 40 millimetres, the Grid 365 is designed for various surfaces such as asphalt, cobblestones or light gravel paths. The bike comes fully equipped as standard, including mudguards, pannier rack, lights and a kickstand.
Simplon offers the Grid 365 in five frame sizes from XS to XL to cover different body sizes. According to the manufacturer, the frame in size M weighs 1150 grams and the total weight of the bike starts at 11.5 kilograms. Simplon gives the maximum system weight as 130 kilograms.
According to Simplon, the carbon frame of the Grid 365 was specially developed for use in the city and on commuter routes. The geometry is designed to enable an upright, comfortable riding position without neglecting the riding dynamics. The steering angle is 70 degrees for all frame sizes and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The chainstays measure 430 or 435 millimetres, depending on the frame size.
Simplon has equipped the frame with numerous mounting points: Eight on the frame and six on the fork are designed to allow the mounting of accessories such as panniers or additional bottle holders.
A special feature is the integrated storage compartment in the down tube, which can be used to store tools, spare tubes or snacks. The cover of the storage compartment also has holders for a multitool, a CO2 cartridge or a Apple Airtag.
The Grid 365 is available in three equipment variants: Essential, Selection and Premium. All variants are equipped with a carbon fork, 40 millimetre wide Schwalbe G-One Overland tyres and hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano. The wheels are from DT Swiss (model G 1800) and are combined with a Shutter hub dynamo.
For the gearing, Simplon uses different groupsets depending on the equipment variant: The Essential version comes with a Sram Apex 1x11 drivetrain, the Selection version with Shimano GRX 600 2x11 and the Premium version with Shimano GRX 810 1x11.
The handlebars are 700 millimetres wide and straight on all versions, which favours an upright riding position. The Grid 365 can be optionally equipped with a suspension fork with 40 millimetres of travel.
Simplon is positioning the Grid 365 as a versatile everyday bike that is suitable for both the daily commute to work and weekend excursions. The wide tyres and stable construction should also make it possible to ride on unpaved paths.
The standard luggage rack is designed for a load of 15 kilograms. The integrated lighting system is powered by a hub dynamo. Aluminium mudguards are designed to protect the Grid 365 from dirt and splash water, making it suitable for use all year round.
In addition to the Grid 365 as a city bike, Simplon also offers a sportier gravel variant called Grid on. This is characterised by racing handlebars, a 12-speed gear system and special equipment packages.
There are two colour options to choose from: Dark Pine Green Metallic (Glossy) / Polished Silver Metallic (Glossy) and Sand Beige (Glossy) / Black (Glossy).
The Simplon Grid 365 is due to go on sale from March 2025. The starting price for the Essential version is 3499 euros, the Selection version costs 3699 euros and the Premium version 4399 euros.
