The technical heart of the new Liv Flourish Urban E-Bikes is the Giant E+ system, which combines the motor, battery, control unit and safety features into a single platform.
The SyncDrive Core 2 motor delivers 55 Nm of torque. The Smart Assist technology automatically adjusts the assistance to suit the rider’s input and the terrain. Depending on the model, either a 500 Wh or 625 Wh battery is used. The stated range is between 60 and 140 kilometres, depending on riding conditions and the level of assistance.
Liv states that the batteries have a service life of up to 2,300 charge cycles. An optional 200 Wh EnergyPak Plus range extender can also be connected. The front and rear lights are powered directly by the battery.
The Flourish E+ 1 model features a Nexus 8-speed hub gear system combined with a Gates belt drive, ensuring low maintenance in everyday use. The Flourish E+ 2 model uses a chain.
For the frame, Liv has opted for a low, wide step-through. The upright riding position is achieved via handlebars that curve backwards and an angle-adjustable stem. The manufacturer also highlights a supportive saddle as one of the key comfort features. The 27.5-inch wheels are fitted with high-volume 2.2-inch tyres. A suspension fork with 63 mm of travel and a suspension seatpost provide shock absorption on roads and paved paths.
Standard equipment includes mudguards, a side stand and integrated front and rear lights, which are powered directly by the bike’s battery. A front basket mounted on the frame with a four-point attachment to the head tube is designed to carry loads of up to 15 kilograms. Front and rear luggage racks can be fitted as an aftermarket option.
Theft protection is provided by an electronic lock function and integration with Apple’s Find My network.
The Flourish E+ series is available in frame sizes XS, S and M. Liv has not yet announced any prices. Further information will be available as soon as it is released at liv-cycling.com/flourish-e be available.
