Canyon Pathlite:ON: New Canyon models for the big tekking tour or the small excursion

The Canyon Pathlite:ON has been around for some time - We have also tested the Pathlite:ON 7 SUV and found it to be suitable for touring. The new models are divided into two lines: Pathlite:ON SUV and Superlight.

The new Canyon Pathlite:ON Superlight

The new Pathlite:ON Superlight is the classic one-does-it-all bike. The e-bike is extremely versatile and can be manoeuvred with ease both off-road and in the city. The Bosch Performance Line SX motor provides the thrust, with its advantages of a very compact design and powerful power of 600 W peak power and 55 Nm torque. Together with the 400 Wh battery, it can travel up to 80 kilometres through the countryside. If that's not enough, you can attach the 250 Wh range extender (plus 1.5 kg) and ride to the nearest ice cream parlour. In addition, the Pathlite:ON Superlight is the first Canyon e-bike with a MIK HD rear rack that offers tested child seat compatibility.

The braking power of the Pathlite:ON 8 Superlight comes from the powerful Magura MT Thirty disc brake. On the Pathlite:ON 4 and 6 Superlight models, the Shimano MT200 brakes provide reliable braking power.

The Canyon Pathlite:ON 4 and 6 Superlight are both equipped with lights. The entry-level model uses an Iridium LED Shiny 40 front light. The Pathlite:ON 6 Superlight is even fitted with a brilliantly bright Supernova Mini 2 Pro. This also has a high beam. Both models also have rear lights that are integrated into the pannier rack. Speaking of luggage: the rigid fork of the top model Pathlite:ON 8 also offers attachment points for lowrider bags.

For comfort and better control off-road, the Canyon Pathlite:ON 4 and 6 Superlight are equipped with 63 mm Suntour suspension forks as standard. With the lowerable seatpost on the Pathlite:ON 6 Superlight, the saddle can be conveniently lowered for easier climbing or for more confidence and freedom of movement when braking.

Bicycle baskets, panniers and child seats can be attached to the MIK HD carrier of the Pathlite:ON 4 and 6 Superlight with a single click. The carrier is also compatible with the Ortlieb QL3.1 fastening system (and most standard panniers). In addition, a Croozer trailer can also be attached to the bike using an axle adapter to take the children or dog with you.

Canyon Pathlite:ON SUV - the here-I-come bike

The revised Canyon Pathlite:ON SUV is practically the bigger sibling of the Pathlite:ON Superlight and makes an unmistakable statement: Here I come! It has the most powerful Performance Line CX motor from Bosch, a battery capacity of 750 Wh and a maximum torque of 85 Newton metres for steep climbs - even with a fully loaded pannier rack.

The Pathlite:ON SUV is all about maximising range and comfort. The Gates CDX belt on the Pathlite:ON 7 and 9 SUV is a clean, quiet and low-maintenance system - goodbye chain grease! The Pathlite:ON 9 SUV even offers a Enviolo hub with automatic gearstick. Simply set the desired cadence and the bike will shift gears automatically.

The ABS (anti-lock braking system) from Bosch on the Pathlite:ON 8 and 9 SUV also offers a particularly safe solution for riding on different surfaces. It prevents the front wheel from locking and the rear wheel from lifting off during sudden braking, regardless of the weather conditions.

The lowerable seat post of the Canyon Pathlite:ON 6, 7, 8 and 9 SUV, together with the 100 mm Suntour suspension fork, improves riding comfort even on light terrain. The integrated front headlights, including the impressive Supernova M99 Mini Pro on the Pathlite:ON 9 SUV, bring light to the road. At the rear, the Supernova E3 Tail Light ensures that you are seen by other road users.

Bosch Connect Module supplemented with alarm and GPS tracking

Both the Pathlite:ON SUV and the Pathlite:ON Superlight have the Bosch Connect module in all models. By connecting to the Bosch eBike Flow app, this enables useful functions such as the Bosch e-bike alarm, automatic motor deactivation when the e-bike is parked, GPS tracking and various customised configurations. With the SP Connect mobile phone holder, the mobile phone can be attached to the handlebars while riding and used as a large display.

The pannier rack is very stable and can carry up to 25 kg. Both models have the advantage that they can be easily customised. Regardless of whether you prefer a sporty or upright riding position - the height of the handlebar stem can be easily adjusted by up to 6 cm.

Canyon has not yet announced any further information on the spec and geometry of the Pathlite:ON SUV models. We will update the information as soon as we receive it.
