Tern presents its new ultra-compact folding bike: the BYB P10. With this model, folding bike specialist Tern has created the smallest and most compact folding bike in the company's long history.

The patented TriFold frame construction of the BYB P10 with two folding joints in the main frame enables a minimum packing volume of just 33 x 80 x 50 cm. Fully folded, the Tern BYB P10 is 30% smaller than conventional folding bikes with 20" wheels. This makes the BYB P10 the perfect companion for commuters and travellers. With its larger 20" wheels and a rigid frame, Tern claims to have found the right balance between folding size and riding comfort.

The new Tern BYB P10 can be folded into an ultra-compact package in just a few simple steps
"The challenge when developing a folding bike is always to achieve a practical folding size - and still get a bike that you want to ride yourself. There are lots of bikes on the market that can be folded but are unfortunately unwieldy and impractical. And there are many others that can be folded really small thanks to their small wheels - but suffer from such limited riding characteristics that you would rather not ride them even short distances. We think the BYB has the right mix with its larger 20" wheels and an incredibly stiff frame that can be transformed into a minimalist package in a few simple steps." Josh Hon, Team Captain of Tern

Despite its sleek design and minimalist features, the Tern BYB P10 does not compromise on comfort, stability and customisation options: The seating position can be adjusted in seconds using the Andros stem and telescopic seat post and is suitable for cyclists from 147 to 195 cm tall.

Tern BYB P10: Practical accessories for commuters and bike travellers

The BYB P10 is supplied without mudguards, pannier rack, full chain guard and lighting system, which makes it even sportier and lighter. At just 11.8 kg (without kickstand), it is even 17% lighter than the fully equipped P8 model. Nevertheless, front and rear pannier racks can be retrofitted at any time to make the bike even more versatile. For travellers, Tern also offers a special case that can be used to transport the BYB P10 safely.

The slim, stable Pack Rack - for frame-mounting on the head tube - carries 15 kg and also serves as a comfortable handle when pushing or pulling the BYB over platforms.

And with a load capacity of up to 20 kg, the rear Metro Transit Rack can easily take a pair of Ortlieb Sport Roller panniers on tour. Thanks to the integrated transport wheels, the folded BYB P10 can also be parked vertically and is particularly easy to manoeuvre when things get tight on crowded platforms.
