With the Woom Now, the Austrians are launching a new children's bike in 20 to 26 inches. Equipped with a front carrier, mudguards and lights, the Woom bike is designed to appeal to children aged 6 to 14.

With the Woom Now The Austrian children's bike manufacturer has added a stylish city bike specially designed for children aged 6 to 14 to its range. The new Woom bike is designed to make everyday life on two wheels easier for children - with everything that goes with it: from the pre-installed LED lighting to the bell with practical twist grip and wide mudguards. What makes the Woom bike stand out from other kids' bikes, however, is its frame design with a small front wheel and front luggage rack.

"The smaller front wheel and the resulting lower position of the front pannier rack have several advantages: The pannier rack is easier for children to load at this height than, for example, a basket high up on a rear pannier rack. In addition, the centre of gravity of the luggage is lower, making the bike much easier to ride despite the heavy load, which was confirmed during the test rides with the kids," explains Woom Product Manager Rafael Zimmel. "The smaller front wheel also makes the bike more manoeuvrable, and the direct attachment of the pannier rack to the frame does not affect the steering. All this makes riding with luggage safer."

Safe for the way to school and everyday life in the city

The Woom Now was born from the idea of developing a bike specifically for the Alpha generation (people born or due to be born between 2010 and 2024). To ensure that children can ride their bikes safely on the way to school or in everyday life in the city, the Woom developers have implemented some things differently to what is known from classic, simple children's bikes: The Woom Now has powerful disc brakes that also have a good braking effect on wet roads. The wide balloon tyres also generate riding comfort on cobblestones or off-road sections. The bell has a practical twist grip so that children don't have to take their hands off the handlebars when ringing the bell. The fixed mudguards and the lighting system with hub dynamo ensure a safe and clean ride in bad weather or at dusk. The frame is made of aluminium for a low weight.
