New Mondraker children's bikes are launched just before Christmas. Grommy, (F-)Trick and (F-)Play are the names of the mountain bikes, which cover a wide range of uses.

Five new Mondraker children's bikes are rolling into the Christmas season: the Spanish manufacturer wants to conquer the world of children's bikes with its models by making the kids' bikes very similar to those of adults. Thanks to the wide range of models, there should be a suitable bike for every young MTB fan, whether with or without electric drive, fully or hardtail. What's more, the new children's bikes cover a wide age range, with the Grommy aiming to provide an introduction to the Mondraker world.

An overview of the five Mondraker children's bikes

For the youngest: Mondraker Grommy

The GROMMY is designed for children as young as three years old. The bike is an e-balance bike, i.e. a balance bike without pedals - but with an electric drive. Children from 3 to 8 years old should get a feel for a Mondraker bike. This is produced in 12" and 16" sizes. Available from 849 euros.

The Trick is a hardtail that also aims to open the door to the Mondraker world, but is suitable for slightly older children. With the four sizes 16", 20", 24" and 26", the children's bike covers a wide age range from the recommended 4 to 14 years. Ideal for children between 95 cm and 165 cm tall.

How do you like this article?

Inspired by the adult models, it has a minimalist design. The frame of the bike is made of Alloy Stealth Evo and is manufactured in the Forward Geometry adapted for children's bikes. Even here, the cables are routed internally, which supports the minimalist design approach. Other features include a 142 x 12 mm thru axle and a UDH derailleur hanger (on the 24" and 26" models). The kids' bike is compatible with 2.4" tyres. Available from 599 euros.

Your first Fully: Mondraker F-Trick

Mondraker hardly refers to the F-Trick as a children's bike, as it is so similar to a bike for adults. The fully is also designed in the Forward Geometry, comes with a dropper post, the same as the Mondraker Neat and F-Podium known Zero Suspension System and a suspension travel of 120 mm on the 24" model and 130 mm on the 26" model at the rear. The brakes have also been upgraded from a 2-piston system on the 24" model to a 4-piston brake on the 26" model.

The Kids Bike comes with 2.4" tyres and is available in 24" and 26" sizes, which is why it is aimed more at children aged 8 to 14. Nevertheless, the height range of 95 cm and 165 cm is also specified here. With technologies such as the Zero Suspension chassis, Mondraker tries to transfer the bike concepts of the big bikes to the small ones, so that young people can also experience the same joy of MTB. Available from 2299 euros.

E-bike for the next generation: Mondraker Play

An e-bike for children that differs from adult e-bikes mainly in terms of size. The Mondraker Play is intended to be the connection bike to the Grommy models form. Children aged 6 to 14 can ride the children's bike with 20", 24" or 26" wheels. Like the Trick, the frame of the Mondraker Play is also made of Alloy Stealth Evo with the familiar Forward Geometry. The integration of the removable 250 Wh battery deep in the down tube gives the bike a lower centre of gravity, which should give children more confidence off-road. As do the 2.4" tyres.

The Play e-hardtail comes with a Mahle X35 drive. This should deliver 40 Nm of torque and support the rider up to 25 km/h. The system can be customised to individual requirements using the MySmartbike app. The 26" model can even be upgraded with a 210 Wh range extender. The price: from 2399 euros >> e.g. available here.

An E-Fully almost like the big ones: Mondraker F-Play

Last but not least, the Mondraker F-Play. The e-MTB for children is to be equipped with Mondraker's high-end technologies: Accordingly, it also comes with the updated Zero Suspension chassis for a more sensitive response and progressiveness at the end of the suspension travel, a removable 250 Wh battery in the down tube and the Mahle X35 drive. The 26" model of the F-Play can also be retrofitted with a 210 Wh range extender.

As with the non-motorised fully, the 26" version offers 10 mm more suspension travel (130 mm) than the 24" version. Recommended for children aged 8 to 14 and between 135 and 165 cm tall, the F-Play is less of a children's bike and more of a real sports bike. The price: from 3299 euros >> e.g. available at Fitstore24 at a reduced price.
