At the centre of the new children's bike range is the Canyon Offspring AL 20 for children between 110 and 126 centimetres tall. At 8.96 kilos, the bike is easy to handle even for light children. Instead of using components from the adult segment, Canyon works with a whole range of its own products - and this is very well thought out: the cranks are adapted to the wheel size. The compact handlebar/stem unit is covered by a rubber pad. The saddle is light and narrow. And the thin grips have a lateral guide. All this also keeps the weight in check and provides safety for young bikers. Investments are made where it makes sense, for example in hydraulic disc brakes. These are also easy for children's hands to operate. Savings are made elsewhere, for example on the fork. Instead of a heavy suspension fork, voluminous tyres and a rigid fork are used. On tougher terrain, however, the Kenda tyres could do with a little more grip and the 500-millimetre handlebars could do with a little more width. Practical: Even children's hands can open the long quick-release saddle.
