The compact Cube Longtail Hybrid cargo bike Resembles the classic trekking bike, but has an extended, sturdy luggage rack and can therefore carry more: the robust, shock-absorbing luggage rack can accommodate up to two children, a 40 x 60 cm Eurobox or spacious side panniers. In total, the luggage rack can carry up to 60 kg, with 40 kg on top and 10 kg on each side.
Even greater load capacity can be achieved by fitting an optional front luggage rack, which provides an additional 20 kg of load capacity. There is also a lockable storage compartment in the down tube. Another down-tube luggage rack can also be attached to the down-tube at two mounting points.
Cube Longtail Hybrid: One size fits (almost) all
A short wheelbase and 26-inch wheels are designed to ensure the Cube Longtail Hybrid offers a comfortable ride even when carrying a load. To make the compact frame suitable for as many people as possible, the manufacturer has fitted a telescopic seatpost and a height-adjustable Speedlifter stem. This “one-size” concept is designed to accommodate a wide range of riders, from 1.60 to 1.90 m in height, on the cargo bike.
Low-maintenance or sporty?
To ensure that the maximum system weight of 200 kilos can be propelled, from the 2025 model year onwards a Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 85 Nm of torque and two batteries with a combined capacity of 1,350 Wh will provide plenty of power.
There are two gear system options to choose from: the “Longtail Hybrid 725” version features an Enviolo hub gear system with Gates belts. The new “Longtail Sport Hybrid Family 1350” version features a wide-range Shimano Cues 10-speed derailleur system.
Cube Longtail: a children’s bike or a workhorse?
Cube offers a range of optional accessories for the safe transport of children on the Longtail Hybrid. These include, for example, a two-part seat, a footboard and a rear wheel guard. There is also an attachment for the seat bench, which can be used either to help young passengers hold on or to secure goods to prevent them from sliding sideways. For carrying loads, Cube also offers a front luggage rack with a matching bag.
