What do the terms cross country, all mountain and enduro mean? A small lexicon provides a clear overview.

CROSS COUNTRY

Across the country. The focus of this e-mountainbike category is more on sporty tours in moderate terrain. Forest and woodland paths, gravel, easy trails without technically demanding obstacles such as steps and steep, blocked descents. Nevertheless, in our opinion, the bikes must fully fulfil the requirements of an e-mountainbike. Long tours with many metres of elevation gain and occasionally technically demanding sections must also be mastered by this category.

ALL MOUNTAIN

Long climbs are followed by fast and technically challenging trails and paths, which only offer the maximum fun factor with a potent chassis, grippy tyres and brakes that can be controlled perfectly. This is how we outline the all-mountain class. In our evaluation, we divide this segment into a somewhat more moderate touring class for bikers with high comfort requirements (up to 130 mm suspension travel) and a more mountain-orientated class with long suspension travel.

ENDURO

The performance is fully geared towards downhill riding. Long suspension travel on the fork and rear triangle take the fear out of tricky passages and jumps. The motor makes the E-Enduros independent of the bike park or shuttle and opens up new horizons for bikers who mainly ride up the mountain for the downhill. In our opinion, E-Enduros are suitable for tours with high levels of technical difficulty and for bikers who generally want more reserves.
