Four bike tracking systems for children's bikes in a family test.
Pedalling along or being pulled - when the little ones grow out of the bike trailer, trailers are the order of the day. In our comparison, we compare four popular pull-along systems for children. Families provide the test report based on their practical experiences in everyday life.

Pull-along systems are perfect for families who go on longer bike tours or even cycle holidays with children. And for parents who want to guide their child safely through city traffic every day. After all, young cyclists usually don't just lack the strength to pedal longer distances with mum and dad. Up to the age of eight, their perception skills are not sufficiently mature: they misjudge speeds and are easily distracted.

If you want to purchase a towing system, you can choose between two variants: Trailer bikes consist of a rear wheel plus saddle, which is attached to the pannier rack or seat post of the towing bike. Advantages: easy coupling, good handling, low weight. Towing systems such as telescopic bars or the "Follow me" allow a normal children's bike to be attached. Advantages: Children can ride sections themselves; takes up little space in the cellar or garage.

We have tested this bike trailer system:

  • Trail-Gator
  • Streamliner
  • Follow-me
  • Fun trailer (FT-6 Shorty)
