This is what the new popular headlight looks like. The Lumotec Lyt from market leader Busch & Müller has a completely recalculated look.

Lumotec Lyt: Low-maintenance LED technology

The simplest version of the 25 lux light miracle costs 32 euros. Competitor Trelock also has a new 25 lux super headlight in its range for 30 euros. Low-maintenance LED technology is taking more and more bicycle lights to a new level. Hub dynamos have also evolved. With the SONdelux (formerly SON 20 R), Schmidt Maschinenbau has introduced the world's first hub dynamo that is specially designed for modern LED headlights.

Few things on bicycles have developed as rapidly in recent years as modern LED lights. To produce white light, bicycle lights combine blue LEDs with photoluminescent material. This allows short-wave, higher-energy light to be converted into long-wave, lower-energy light.

LED headlights used to be a relatively expensive affair. As a result, only halogen headlights were available from all manufacturers in the entry-level range. With the Busch & Müller LUMOTEC Lyt and Trelock LS 862/863/865 model series, two manufacturers have now launched low-cost headlights starting at around 30 euros. Just like the more expensive models, there are different versions, some of which have a light switch for hub dynamos, a parking light function or a light sensor with automatic switch-on.
