We sent four battery-powered and two dynamo headlights on a night ride. The pleasing conclusion: the new generation of LED headlights turns night into day compared to previous ones.
The lighting market is on the move. Halogen technology, which was so modern a short time ago, is as good as obsolete. The industry is upgrading with new, bright LED technology, and not just for high-quality city bikes with a solid lighting system. This durable and energy-saving technology is also an attractive alternative for sporty cross and fitness bikes.
The test shows how much light the LEDs bring into the dark. Among the models on the market, there are numerous powerful systems that cast the right amount of light onto the road. However, not all of them are legal and authorised for use on public roads.
