It all started with Restrap pedal straps, later followed by bikepacking bags. There is now a whole range of products, including customised frame bags, bikepacking sandals and even a carrying aid for bikes: the Hike-a-Bike Harness. And now there are three new travel products - well, at least they were presented today. According to the manufacturer, they will be available from the end of 2023.

Restrap Travel Range

The Restrap Travel Range consists of function-orientated travel products that have been developed as useful carrying solutions for use on and off the bike and are perfect for everyday use on the bike, during outdoor activities and in everyday life.

Reflective details improve visibility. Items that need to be accessed quickly - such as energy bars or a water bottle - can be stowed in side mesh pockets made from stretch material. The classic PU Restrap label is of course a must - and is vegan.

Restrap backpack with roll top

In everyday life, you often have to take your laptop with you. Bikepacking bags can't cope with this, so Restrap will be offering this roll-top rucksack in two different sizes from the end of the year.Photo: RestrapIn everyday life, you often have to take your laptop with you. Bikepacking bags can't cope with this, so Restrap will be offering this roll-top rucksack in two different sizes from the end of the year.

The Restrap backpack is for bikepacking and everyday use. Made from durable, PFAS-free TPU outer material with orange nylon lining and airmesh back and hip straps, this backpack is durable and comfortable to wear, promises Restrap. The backpack features adjustable side grab straps, reflective front and back straps for added safety and two side pockets for storing smaller items. The zipped compartment is specially designed for a 15-inch laptop, has a security loop to prevent theft and is also accessible from the inside. A second zip compartment contains a mesh pocket that is accessible from both the inside and outside.

The padded shoulder and chest straps are equipped with additional D-rings for attaching accessories. Hypalon details provide additional durability, while the roll-up Velcro fasteners keep the bag organised. A detachable hip belt and a key clip are also included. Practical side straps allow the rucksack to be adjusted so that the contents of the rucksack do not wobble.

The 40-litre version of the roll-top rucksack also has a side outer pocket and an additional inner pocket, while the 22-litre version does not have these two functions. Otherwise, the functions of both versions are identical. The vegan PU brand label can also be found on the rucksack.

Restrap Light Mount - Light mount for M5 thread

Where to put the light when the handlebars are already full of luggage, sat nav, aerobars and more? Restrap now has a solutionPhoto: RestrapWhere to put the light when the handlebars are already full of luggage, sat nav, aerobars and more? Restrap now has a solution

The Restrap Light Mount enables lights to be attached to all M5 threaded eyelets on the bike. This leaves the handlebars free for mounting bags or other accessories. These items of luggage often restrict the lighting on the handlebars or simply take up the necessary space.

By mounting the lights in different places, e.g. on the fork, on the dropouts or on the luggage rack eyelets at the rear of the frame, the light is kept away from items of luggage that could obstruct the light beam. It should be noted, however, that when mounted on the fork, the front wheel may be in the way and the light may not illuminate the road or path properly or other road users may not see the light properly. The same applies to the rear light.

Restrap has given the light mount another function: It also serves as a tool for screwing and unscrewing the crank bolt on Shimano cranks.

Adventure or bikepacking sandal in collaboration with Quoc

Restrap and Quoc have teamed up to ensure that you'll never again lose those Adilettes that somehow got stuck on top of your arse rocket. The bikepacking sandals can be buckled together and securely fastened under the fastening strap of the Restrap Saddle Bag. This ensures that the sandals can still be found on the side of the saddle bag at the end of the day.

Hike a Bike Harness - Carry your bike like a rucksack

Getting to remote places by bike - or taking a shortcut over a mountain. It's not uncommon to have to shoulder or somehow carry the bike on such trips. This may not be a problem for a short time, but if you have a bike sitting on your shoulder for several kilometres, perhaps with bikepacking bags on top, you soon realise how uncomfortable it is. Often the frame bag also prevents you from putting the bike on your shoulder properly. To make matters worse, you no longer have a free hand, which is important for stability the rougher it gets. This is where Restrap comes into play with the Hike a Bike Harness, a bike carrying system. This little helper can be easily transported on the top tube with a Velcro strap. When it is needed, straps come out that allow the bike to be placed on the back like a rucksack - provided the path is wide enough.
