We have tested these five bicycle light sets for you in accordance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO):
Price: 68 Euro >> e.g. available from Rose
Set weight140 gram
Lighting duration (v / h): 3:00 / 5:00
The headlight and rear light can be mounted on standard handlebars without tools, although the fastener on the front light is somewhat difficult to release. The rear light has a wide beam and is clearly visible from all sides. The battery life is a little short. The front light casts a homogeneous carpet of light for a good three hours, whereby the battery indicator only informs you 15 minutes before it goes out.

Price60 Euro >> e.g. available from Maciag Offroad
Set weight: 155 gram
Lighting duration (v / h): 2:15 / 6:45
The residual light indicator when the on/off switch is pressed once is well thought out, but is inaccurate on the headlight due to the green/red mixed light. The separate LEDs on the rear light work more precisely. The light beam of the headlight is relatively narrow and weak at close range. The diffusion of the rear light is very good, two brightness levels can be set. Simple attachment using robust rubber bands.

Set weight: 145 gram
Lighting duration (v / h): 3:45 / 10:30
Although the Sigma set is slightly more expensive than the competition, it offers impeccable light and long battery life. The precise indicator for the battery charge level on the headlight and the emergency light, which continues to shine for almost two hours, are also worthy of praise. The highlight of the slim rear light is the integrated brake light function. It lights up for so long that it rarely needs to be charged.
Brightness 5 out of 6 points
Lighting duration 6 out of 6 points
Price75 >> e.g. available at B.O.C.
Set weight: 170 grammes
Lighting duration (v / h): 2:45 / 10:45
Both lights are characterised by their endurance. The LED at the front provides a homogeneous carpet of light for around three hours and then still has enough power for almost ten hours of emergency lighting. A three-stage indicator at the front provides reliable information about the charge level, but is missing at the rear. Mounting is a little fiddly, but the lights are very easy to remove.

Lighting duration 4 out of 6 points

Set weight: 145 gram
Lighting duration (v / h) 2:00 / 5:15
The best argument in favour of the Voxom set is its price. At 40 euros, it costs by far the least. But you have to make a few compromises: The light profile is ok, but quite weak at close range. The indicator for the charge level only informs you once with a red light, 45 minutes later you are in the dark. As soon as the orange indicator LED lights up on the rear light, it should be taken to the charging station for refuelling.

Lighting duration 2 out of 6 points
