Bike helmet with light: Kask Limelight LED rear light for the city

Leaving the car behind and travelling daily routes by bike instead is becoming increasingly popular in cities. A helmet is a recommended accessory. Especially as the days get shorter and shorter, it is almost impossible to avoid cycling in the dark. Good lighting is not only important for your own vision, but also contributes to visibility. More and more manufacturers are therefore including cycle helmets with lights in their range. Now the Italian helmet manufacturer Kask has also introduced an LED rear light for cycle helmets: the Limelight. The large and highly visible rear light is designed to increase the visibility and safety of cyclists.

The new helmet rear light from Kask can be fitted to the manufacturer's urban bike helmets with a clip connection. The helmet rear light has five light modes:

1. Continuous light with low intensity
2. Continuous light with medium intensity
3. Continuous light with high intensity
4. Flashing light with low intensity and
5. High intensity flashing light.

Depending on the selected operating mode, the battery lasts a maximum of around eleven hours and can be charged using a USB-C cable. A special light signal indicates that the battery charge level is below 15 per cent.

The Limelight fits these helmets

The Limelight is compatible with the Moebius, Moebius Elite and Urban R urban bike helmets. The Moebius Limelight model is also being added to the collection. The Limelight rear light is already included in the scope of delivery.

The Moebius consists of a robust and scratch-resistant outer shell made of ABS with a removable peak. The helmet is suitable for all weather conditions.

The Moebius Elite bike helmet is the premium version of the Moebius. The three points below emphasise its elite status.

Kask Urban R

The Urban R, which is reminiscent of a moped helmet, has three ventilation openings in the upper section to channel the airflow. A visor with UV400 protection is included with the helmet, but can be swapped for other accessory visors or removed completely. The textile in the helmet is treated with the Silver Plus antibacterial and antifungal process, i.e. against bacteria and fungi.

Good to know

A bicycle helmet with light does not replace the rear light on the bicycle. The following rules apply to a StVZO-compliant rear light:

1. The rear light can be mounted at a height of between 25 and 120 cm.
2. The rear light must be mounted in such a way that it cannot slip.
3. A bicycle rear light may be equipped with a brake light function.
4. Flashing lights are not permitted.
5. A red category Z rear reflector must be mounted at a height of between 25 and 120 centimetres (such a Z reflector is often already integrated into the rear light)
