Trek today unveiled three mountain bike helmets that have either improved or completely reimplemented the already familiar WaveCel safety technology. These helmets cover the entire spectrum of riders, from beginners to experienced enduro riders.
What's new is that all of these 3 helmet models are equipped with the lighter and cooler WaveCel technology. Trek claims that the "cell walls" - i.e. the material of the WaveCel honeycombs - save 15 grams of weight and at the same time ensure better air circulation with a 10 % larger cell structure. WaveCel is a collapsible cell structurewhich lines the inside of the helmet and is designed to protect the head more effectively than foam helmets in certain cycling accidents.

The new Quantum WaveCel MTB helmet from Trek is a versatile all-rounder that proves its worth both in urban environments and on wide mountain trails. It offers plenty of protection thanks to its deeper coverage at the back of the head and the WaveCel technology now used for the first time in this model. It also has a three-way adjustable visor and an integrated sunglasses "garage". The price: 119.99 euros (RRP).
The US manufacturer has developed the new Trek Rally WaveCel MTB helmet for more technically demanding trails. The new Rally offers a deeper rear head cover than the previous model and the improved WaveCel technology, which is more cooling. Its performance features include the BOA fit system, a FidLock buckle, Blendr accessory mounts and the three-way adjustable visor with integrated sunglass holder. The Trek Rally is the "mid-range model" and costs 169.99 euros (RRP).
The new Trek Blaze WaveCel MTB helmet is aimed at advanced mountain bikers and enduro riders who need a lot of protection and even more coverage. The top model among the three revised bike helmets comes with removable ear pieces, the new and more cooling WaveCel technology, a BOA fit system, a magnetic breakaway visor with three positions optimised for goggles and Blendr accessory holders.
