Uvex is integrating the intelligent Tocsen crash sensor into its 2021 quatro integrale and finale 2.0 MTB helmets. There are also new mirrored XXL goggles.

With its new Toscen enduro helmets with integrated crash sensor, which automatically sends out an emergency call in the event of an emergency, Uvex promises a safety bonus for solo riders. The new XXL goggles will be particularly popular with those who don't want their bike goggles to be less conspicuous.

Enduro helmets with automatic call for help

With its new enduro helmets - the quatro integrale Tocsen and the finale 2.0 Tocsen - Uvex is focussing on even more safety, especially for bikers who are riding alone. Both models are equipped with the fall sensor from the Freiburg-based start-up Tocsen. In combination with a free smartphone app (Android & iOS), the system asks how the biker is doing after a fall. If there is no response within 30 seconds, an emergency call including GPS data is automatically sent for precise localisation. In addition, the stored emergency contacts and the entire Tocsen community in the vicinity are informed to ensure rapid assistance. The fall sensor, which is integrated into the helmet's adjustment mechanism, and the smartphone are connected via Bluetooth Low Energy. The manufacturer promises a sensor battery life of three months. It is charged via a mini USB port.

Uvex finale 2.0 Tocsen

With the 20 ventilation channels of the Uvex finale 2.0 Toscen, even the biggest hotheads should be sufficiently cooled. The model is also equipped with a large, adjustable visor. If the acceleration sensor in the twist lock detects a value that is significantly higher than normal, it indicates a fall and makes itself known. The manufacturer has come up trumps with three new XXL shields: With the Uvex sportstyle 227, 228 and 231, the futuristic design and the ultra-large mirror lens are particularly eye-catching. UV radiation, dust and wind are kept out by the large lenses and provide optimum protection for the eyes and vision. All three models are also equipped with anti-fog and easy-to-clean lenses.
