Scott has revised its race helmet for mountain bikers and road cyclists. With the new Centric Plus, the developers placed particular emphasis on aerodynamics, lightness and the best possible ventilation. With its universal design, the Scott Centric Plus is suitable for every sporty biker.
The helmet has lost 30 grams compared to its predecessor and now weighs 220 grams. It is not only aerodynamic, but also provides the necessary cooling for fast tours. The optimisation of the air flow outside and inside the helmet should ensure the best possible ventilation. So it can also get hot at times.
Thanks to the MIPS system, the Centric Plus also offers added safety. At least that's what the Swedes promise: The low-friction inner layer is designed to reduce the rotational force in the event of a fall onto the head, thus significantly minimising the risk of brain damage. Our sister magazine In its current issue, TOUR tested 26 helmets in the test laboratory and for the first time measure the protective effect of MIPS and co. using an elaborate, innovative test procedure and, based on this data, make an objective statement about which helmet provides better protection than others.
The new Centrus Plus is also adaptable. Thanks to the optimised adjustment system, the helmet can be easily adapted to any head shape. The in-mould construction, in which the outer polycarbonate shell is fused with an impact-absorbing foam shell, also promises a comfortable fit.
The Centric Plus is available in sizes S, M and L and in various colours e.g. at Bergzeit for 200 euros.
