It almost seems as if every manufacturer wants to have a special enduro helmet in their programme. TSG naturally also wants to get in on the act and is showing the new Trailfox at its stand. It is based on the design of the classic dirt helmets, with the rear pulled far down. However, it is manufactured in a classic in-mould construction and has 18 ventilation openings that are connected via ventilation channels. At 290 grams, the Trailfox is also said to be relatively light. For 100 euros, you can choose between five different colours. From spring, TSG will also be offering a version with MIPS, which will then cost 140 euros.
The new Seek is likely to be even more eye-catching in terms of design. The EPS foam peeks through quite extensively between the ventilation openings. Only on closer inspection does it become clear that the Seek is a hard-shell helmet. Nevertheless, 17 ventilation openings ensure a cool head and, of course, an acceptable weight. The real advantage, however, is that the ABS hard shell is said to offer considerably more protection and also fulfil the strictest safety standards. The Seek weighs 320 grams, is available in three colours, two sizes and for just 65 euros.
As the name suggests, the Tahoe Cap has a cap. Underneath this hard shell is a D3O soft protector specially developed for TSG. The combination of these two systems should bring several advantages. On the one hand, you slide better over the ground on a hard shell. In the event of a fall, the protector remains on the knee and is not pulled downwards. Secondly, the hard shell distributes the impact energy over a larger area and thus softens the impact on the knee. The cap is incorporated directly into the Kevlar outer skin of the protector, which should guarantee long durability. Two Velcro fasteners and rubberised neoprene cuffs are also designed to securely fasten the protector to the knee.
