Taking the E-Enduro to the bike park? A full-face helmet is no luxury. However, we also tested the light and airy Specialized Gambit for its trail suitability.

If you do your laps in the bike park on an E-Enduro, you can rack up a few metres of descent and let it rip on the trail. A Mountain bike helmet with a fixed chin guard is not a luxury, as they protect the face better than open half-shells in the event of a fall.

Classic full-face models are rather suboptimal for uphill riding. They are usually heavy and stuffy. At 647 grams, the Specialized Gambit is barely heavier than a half-shell and is also very well ventilated. You can breathe easy and you won't get a stiff neck.

Around the ears, however, the Gambit cannot deny its full-face genes. On hot days, it is significantly warmer here than with a half shell. The protective effect is not as high as with a solid downhill helmet. Expensive, but convincing in practice!
