Light, stable, safe: the new generation of full-face helmets from TSG and iXS aims to impress with numerous innovative changes.

Whether it's wild enduro rides or bike park visits: as a biker, there's no getting around a full-face helmet with a chin guard that reliably protects the chin and face in the event of a fall. The new Xult DH from iXS is designed to outshine its predecessor with innovative improvements. The new TSG Sentinel is also set to impress with its design, comfort and safety. We briefly introduce the two new products for 2022:

The Sentinel from TSG

Due to increasingly dangerous trails and bigger jumps, the Swiss company TSG decided to develop a safe, practical and attractively priced full-face helmet. Twelve ventilation openings ensure a high level of comfort, keeping the wearer cool at all times. In addition, the inner lining and cheek pads are easy to remove and can be washed.

The robust ABS outer shell and the face protection made of hardened, laminated EPS foam are said to be particularly promising. The stable yet compact material combines a filigree design with a high level of protection. The wide opening should not only allow a good peripheral view, but also guarantee plenty of space for the goggle. With a weight of 1150 grams (manufacturer's specification) and a price of 200 euros, the full-face helmet from TSG has nothing to hide from the competition. The aspect of Sustainability The Swiss have taken this into account. This is because as soon as the full-face helmet reaches the end of its service life, its ABS and polycarbonate shell can be recycled.

The Xult DH from iXS

The new iXS Xult DH also focuses primarily on safety and is designed to protect the head in the event of a fall thanks to the brand's proprietary technology, in which inserts are positioned at important impact zones between the EPS and outer shell. The inserts deform in the event of gentle impacts and stiffen in the event of a harder impact, so that the helmet can absorb the forces and promote multidirectional movements in the event of an accident. At 995 grams (manufacturer's specification size M), the helmet is even lighter than the Sentinel. This is thanks to the fibre-plastic composite from which it is made. The material is not only lighter than conventional carbon fibre, but is also a more environmentally friendly alternative.

In addition to the safety factors, wearing comfort was also a decisive factor for iXS. After all, who would voluntarily wear an uncomfortable helmet? The ergonomic padding system with specially developed cheek pads is designed to guarantee a secure, stable and comfortable fit. A silicone strap holds the goggles in place, while the Double-D fastening system offers a precise fit every time you ride. In addition, the integrated Vortex ventilation channels should ensure that plenty of cool air can flow through the helmet. At 329 euros, the Xult DH is significantly more expensive than the Sentinel.
