Sweet Protection is expanding its range of full-face helmets for gravity mountain bikers for the 2025 season. The new collection includes three models based on the in-house 2Vi technology platform: the Fixer Carbon 2Vi Mips, the Fixer Composite 2Vi Mips and the Strayer 2Vi Mips.
All helmets have a 2-layer Mips safety system, which is designed to reduce rotational forces in the event of a fall. According to the manufacturer, the helmets have been developed in close collaboration with professional athletes such as slopestyle rider Emil Johansson. The models are designed to cover different areas of use, from downhill racing to aggressive trail riding.
The top model Fixed Carbon 2Vi MipsAccording to Sweet Protection, the is designed for downhill racing, slopestyle and park riding. The helmet has an outer shell made of carbon prepreg, which is said to offer an optimum combination of stiffness and elasticity. Inside, multi-density EPS impact shields at strategic points provide improved shock absorption. The chin guard is made of EPP (expanded polypropylene) with a shock-absorbing structure.
Sweet Protection specifies the weight of the Fixer Carbon 2Vi Mips as 1055 grammes on. The helmet has Eleven ventilation openings for air circulation. The Fixer Composite 2Vi Mips shares most of the features of the carbon model, but uses a composite outer shell instead of carbon. This results in a slightly higher weight of 1240 grammes. With the Strayer 2Vi Mips, Sweet Protection presents an in-mould hybrid helmet that has been specially developed for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing. According to the manufacturer, the helmet combines a lightweight design with good ventilation and stability. A special feature is the all-round in-mould chin guard made of ABS/PC, which is firmly integrated into the helmet structure.
The Strayer 2Vi Mips has a 5-shell hybrid construction with an impact-absorbing, low-density EPS structure. There is an additional impact shield on the front. With 720 grammes the Strayer 2Vi Mips is significantly lighter than the Fixer models. Good ventilation is ensured by 17 openings. The fit can be adjusted using an Occigrip fit system. The fastening is done via a Fidlock magnetic buckle.
All three helmet models are available in different sizes. The Fixer Carbon 2Vi Mips and the Fixer Composite 2Vi Mips are available in sizes XS (53-54 centimetres) to XL (61-62 centimetres). The Strayer 2Vi Mips is available in sizes S/M (53-56 centimetres), M/L (56-59 centimetres) and L/XL (59-62 centimetres).
The recommended retail price for the Fixer Carbon 2Vi Mips is 699 euros. The Fixer Composite 2Vi Mips costs 449 Euro and the Strayer 2Vi Mips 349 Euro. All helmets fulfil the certifications EN1078:2012 + A1:2012, CPSC 1203, ASTMF 1952-15 and NTA 8776 (e-bike).
