Lightweight bike case test: Bike Guard Curve from B & W
The Bike Guard Curve does without hinges. Instead, the bike case consists of two extra-light shells that are placed on top of each other and closed using self-tensioning straps.

This makes packing easy. The bike rests on three foam pads that can be flexibly positioned using Velcro. The chainring and rear derailleur are protected separately. Additional pockets allow the free space in the case to be optimally utilised. Unfortunately, there is no holder for the handlebars. Two people are recommended to close the Bike Guard, as the two halves have to be interlocked somewhat awkwardly. Contrary to our fears, however, the shells then sit very firmly on top of each other. With its four castors (two of which can be swivelled), it rolls smoothly through the terminal. When lifting it into the car or onto the luggage conveyor belt, however, there is a slight lack of handles.

PLUS Very light, easy to pull, easy to pack
MINUS Few handles, very expensive, awkward to close

Price 799 Euro
Weight 10.8 kg
