The frame bag from Ortlieb for bikepacking fits between the head tube and seat tube on the bike. BIKE tested the Frame-Pack RC Toptube.

The new Frame-Pack RC Toptube frame bag from Ortlieb offers numerous practical features: In the three-litre version, it can also be fitted between the head tube and seat tube on small frame sizes under 50 centimetres. This even makes it possible to place water bottles underneath, depending on the position of the bottle holder. The robust full-length roll-top closure with three fasteners has already proven its worth and is waterproof.

The permitted load of three kilograms is securely fixed by the five Velcro straps in the frame triangle. The straps for the top tube are suitable for tube diameters of 30 to 70 millimetres. By adding padding material under the loops on the seat tube and down tube, the hold on thin frame tubes can be improved. If a larger storage space is required, the four-litre version is a good choice, but this does not fit in very small frames.
