Tailfin, known for its innovative bikepacking solutions, presents an extension to its product range with the new Rear Top Tube Bag. The top tube bag has been specially developed for use on longer tours and bikepacking adventures. According to the manufacturer, the bag combines maximum storage space with an aerodynamic design, making it a practical solution for cyclists who need additional storage space on multi-day tours.
One of the main features of the new Tailfin Rear Top Tube Bag is its fastening system. The bag is not only attached to the top tube, but also to the seat post. This creates a three-point attachment that ensures maximum stability even on bumpy surfaces. Tailfin emphasises that this concept minimises chafe marks on the frame and at the same time prevents the bag from slipping.
The Rear Top Tube Bag is designed to be completely waterproof in order to protect the contents even in adverse weather conditions. Tailfin has used a robust but lightweight material that can withstand a water pressure of 20,000 millimetres. The sealed zip and taped seams should also guarantee that no water can penetrate the inside of the bag.
Tailfin offers the new top tube bag in three different sizes to meet different requirements. The smallest version holds 1.5 litres, the medium 2.5 litres and the largest version offers a volume of 4 litres. All versions are slimline so that they do not restrict freedom of movement when pedalling. The aerodynamic shape should also minimise air resistance, which is particularly advantageous on longer tours.
In addition to the waterproof design and the stable fastening system, the Tailfin Rear Top Tube Bag also has other features. An integrated cable system makes it possible to charge electronic devices such as smartphones or GPS devices while riding. There are also organiser pockets on the inside to store smaller items neatly. The zip should be easy to operate even when wearing gloves, which is a particular advantage in cool temperatures.
The new Tailfin Rear Top Tube Bag will be available from May via the manufacturer's website and from selected specialist retailers. The recommended retail price starts at 70 euros for the smallest version and goes up to 100 euros for the 4-litre version. Tailfin emphasises that the bag is compatible with most bike frames and is suitable for both off-road and on-road use.
