Small bikepacking bags such as the newly introduced Z Adventure F2 from Zefal can be used to quickly stow away energy bars, a rain jacket and tools. The contents of such a handlebar bag can be accessed in an instant through the zip.

The new handlebar bag from French bicycle pump and accessory manufacturer Zefal is waterproof with splash protection on all sides (IPX4).

How to mount the handlebar bag

The design of the handlebar roll is simple and elegant and is attached to the handlebars with two Velcro straps. The bag fits a wide range of handlebar widths. Each of the straps is equipped with a soft pad which, together with a cord fastener that can be placed around the head tube or stem, should ensure a secure hold on the terrain.

According to the manufacturer, this pannier weighs just 135 grams and has a capacity of 2.5 litres. It is made from PVC-free, water- and abrasion-resistant nylon material. The material is welded in favour of waterproofness. The zip on the front allows easy access to the equipment. If you're brave enough, you might even be able to access the contents of the bag while riding. Without having tried the bag, it seems that the zip is positioned in such a way that you can easily reach into the bag even with a battery-powered headlight or a GPS device mounted on the top of the handlebars. With a light or sat nav, this is unlikely to be the case while riding.

Both the logo and the print on the front of the handlebar bag and the circles on the sides are reflective.
