Very good handling characteristics, top chassis, high-quality equipment: For 2500 euros, you will hardly find a better overall package on the market.

Already in BIKE 1/13-> the completely newly developed VM 150 Elite impressed the testers. This drew our attention to the 2499 euro VM 150 Pro. Curiously, this model also rolled into the test with 2012 equipment. The reason: frame development was delayed and the new bike is only now being launched on the market instead of 2012 - the components had already been purchased, however. The difference is not really noticeable - which somehow makes the annual model changes absurd. Uphill, the Votec with its sporty geometry is one of the best, the rear end responds sensitively, works effectively and doesn't need a platform to stabilise it. The VM 150 rumbles over the key downhill sections with more directional stability than manoeuvrability and playfulness. It remains a safe riding experience. With Votec, you are dealing with a shipper - keywords: test ride, maintenance, etc.

ConclusionVery good handling characteristics, top chassis, high-quality equipment. For 2500 euros you will hardly find a better overall package on the market.

PLUS Telescopic support, good equipment, ten-year warranty, clever frame details, no weight limit
MINUS Unergonomic handlebar offset, no Shadow Plus rear derailleur, heavy chassis, brake levers without external adjustment

The alternative
You get a lot of bike for your money with the VM 150 Comp (1999 euros). Fox suspension, Shimano XT/SLX and robust wheels promise a lot of riding fun, the only thing you have to do without here is a telescopic seatpost.
