Curtain up for the match winner: the Rumblefish takes home the test victory on points. No bike in the test group climbed better - this does not refer to 1000-metre climbs but to difficult ramps - the traction is gigantic (1.7 bar in the tyre). Tester Watzke scrambled up rocky, seemingly unrideable climbs. But that is only one of the bike's strengths. Another quality lies in the DRCV suspension, which works excellently and feels like more than the measured 120 millimetres. The effective platform eliminates the need to pump the shock uphill. The geometry is perfect, almost compact: you sit in the bike, the large wheels don't stand out negatively. We swapped the 105 stem for a 90 mm one. Downhill, the Rumblefish conveys confidence and composure, yet is manoeuvrable enough. The lightweight aluminium frame impresses with its clever details, workmanship and stiffness. What's missing? The telescopic seat post. But for 3999 euros, this is still within budget compared to the competition.
Conclusionexcellent trail bike for difficult tasks. A monster truck for riding technique fans.
PLUS Top driving characteristics, top chassis
MINUS Heavy wheels, stem too long
