Geometry adjustment the Swiss way: the Transalpes comes with unconventional features.

Adjustable forks, variable rear suspension systems - geometries that can be adapted to "uphill" and "downhill" riding conditions are nothing new. But Philipp Schranz, Swiss designer and bike freak, was never satisfied with that. All of these features may move the body's centre of gravity forwards uphill, but they also change the angle and wheelbase - and therefore the riding characteristics. Philipp designed his own system: a screw thread is used to move the position of the seat dome forwards or backwards. If the seat dome moves forwards, the top tube length is shortened and the saddle moves upwards. Philipp was enthusiastic and called his invention "Mojo", Afro-English for "miracle cure".

He found a manufacturer and now offers his project under the name Transalpes. During extensive test rides, we could clearly feel the "mojo" effect. A few turns of the seat dome and a downhiller becomes a climber. At least when it comes to tackling short ramps. For longer uphills, you'll want a more stretched geometry. As the wheelbase and steering angle do not change as a result of the adjustment, the bike remains pleasantly stable.

Also positive: the super-sensitive suspension with the Fox steel suspension fork and a shock specially converted with a titanium spring (weight). The suspension stands out positively, especially in times of air suspension. Only on very fast downhills does the bike feel a little unstable due to this and its less rigid front end. Schranz offers its Transalpes as a complete bike with well thought-out equipment and puts together a package that is unrivalled at this price. In addition to high-end titanium components, it also features "No Tubes" wheels. This gives it a weight that few competitors in this bike category can match.
