Transalp Signature III test error
In the printed issue of BIKE Magazine 2/20, we tested 10 all-mountain bikes under 3000 euros. Unfortunately, we made a mistake in the details of the Transalp test bike. We correct it.

In BIKE 2/20, we tested 10 all-mountain bikes under 3000 euros under the heading "Sound & Smoke". The Transalp Signature III X12 1.0 for € 2999 was the third best bike with 186.5 points and a test score of "very good". In the printed details, we criticised the fact that the shock mount was reworked and therefore the bare aluminium would be exposed. This statement is wrong. We were obviously mistaken. The bare aluminium is not exposed. What can be seen inside the shock mount was residue from an extremely viscous assembly paste that Transalp uses to lubricate all the screw connections on the frame. We sincerely apologise for this mistake and ask for your forgiveness.

Incorrectly identified: The bare aluminium is not exposed here, as erroneously described in BIKE 2/20 on page 40. The light-coloured areas are the residue of an assembly paste.Photo: Georg Grieshaber Incorrectly identified: The bare aluminium is not exposed here, as erroneously described in BIKE 2/20 on page 40. Our verdict on the Transalp Signature III X12 10.0: Despite having the best spec in the entire test field, the Transalp struggles on tricky descents. The geometry and the somewhat weak rear end give away fun potential. On the climbs, however, the Transalp is a strong climber. Other frames may look better, but they weigh more - and have poorer stiffness values.Photo: Georg Grieshaber Our verdict on the Transalp Signature III X12 10.0: Despite having the best spec in the entire test field, the Transalp struggles on tricky descents.
