Classic 29er virtues, great equipment, fair price: The Votec is recommended for tall riders and a wide range of use.

"Timeless" is the appropriate attribute for Votec's new sports bike. Black and white, glossy and matt - the aluminium chassis dispenses with quickly fading design. The equipment with Reverb Stealth dropper post, Syntace wheels and Sram groupset is also timeless because it is complete. Every part fits and nips any feelings of tuning in the bud. The long, steep geometry is noticeable right from the first few metres uphill, and we turned the stem to negative for more climbing fun. And even on the first demanding metres downhill you can feel it: This is a 29er thundering downhill. The smooth ride is unrivalled, subjectively the bike accelerates twice as fast downhill and helps even cautious riders to experience success. However, the long wheelbase cannot be conjured away in tight corners - the VX 135 is not particularly manoeuvrable or playful. It is a long-distance tourer with a safety advantage.

Conclusion: Classic 29er virtues, great equipment, fair price: The Votec is recommended for tall riders and a wide range of use.

PLUS Lightweight wheels, price/performance, comfortable saddle, 200 mm disc at the front
MINUS Well-made, but heavy frame
