Test 2015: Trek Remedy 8 27.5
"The Remedy is the mountain bike for mountain bikers" - says Trek. And the many good test results confirm this.

However, Trek only opens the door to maximum performance from a certain budget. Compared to the Remedy 9, for example, the Remedy 8 we tested lacks the telescopic dropper post and the new Re:Active shock. However, the 8 rolls onto the trails with a double crankset and is 1000 euros cheaper. However, you need the 22-36 climbing gear, because the heavy wheels are clearly noticeable on the steep sections of the test lap. The bike is in its element on demanding terrain. The powerful fork provides confidence on high jumps, the Remedy roars unshakeably downhill. It is more of a mini enduro bike than a touring partner for long distances. The Remedys only become light with a carbon frame!

ConclusionTrek's classic still offers high reliability and a lot of riding fun. Compared to the equipment, however, the Remedy 8 is too expensive and too heavy.

PLUS Stylish design, agile handling, robust bike, geometry adjustment, lifetime warranty
MINUS High weight, meagre equipment, no telescopic support

The alternative: You can only feel the technical capabilities from 3999 euros. The
Remedy 9 has a Re:Aktiv suspension strut, telescopic seatpost and is clearly the more modern bike. Alternatively also available in 29 inch.
