Test 2015: Radon Slide 27.5 10.0
Radon is having a good run. In the 3000 euro range, where competitors send their mid-range bikes for testing, the brand from Bonn rolls the top model out of the warehouse.

To be precise: it comes in a box, because Radon is a mail-order company with all the advantages and disadvantages. However, the advantages of the Slide 10.0 outweigh the disadvantages: it boasts the best spec in the test field and has no weaknesses in terms of handling. Uphill, the lowered fork helps in the fight against gravity, the high weight and the noticeable pedal kickback. Downhill, the Fox Factory suspension elements not only shine with their Kashima coating, but also with perfect function. The central position in the bike, combined with the high cockpit, ensures a good overview and control. In any case, the Slide doesn't let the tough Lake Garda tour out of its reserve. All Mountain Plus by definition.

Conclusion: You don't need more bike. However, this hackneyed statement fits the Slide well. Despite the high weight: buy tip!

PLUS Top equipment for the money, very good handling, wide range of use
MINUS High weight (frame, fork!), no chainstay protector

The alternative: If you prefer shifting and braking with Sram and suspension with Rock Shox, take the Slide 27.5 9.0 HD. HD stands for "hit it", so there's a chain guide and Hans Dampf tyres as standard. 2699 euros.
