New motor, new paths: The Uproc X drives Flyer's sporty E-MTB line forward. There is also a model with up to 1290 watt hours. Both with 95 Newton metres of the new Panasonic drive.

With the Uproc 6 has flyer broke new ground a good year ago. Emphatically sporty, modern, almost extreme. Now the racy E-Enduro is getting a little brother, which is based on the Eurobike trade fair was presented. The Uproc X is intended to appeal to a very broad target group and satisfy many needs. To this end, the all-mountain bike has a slightly more moderate geometry, 150 millimetres of suspension travel and a wheel mix of 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear wheels. From the Uproc 6, the X version inherits the features of the elegant full carbon frame, which impressed in our last enduro test. In addition to a tidy appearance, the handling of the battery mount and the detailed solutions are also successful.

The drive of the Uproc X

The connection between Flyer and Panasonic has a long tradition. The latest e-bikes feature a completely new motor configuration: the GX Ultimate Pro is said to deliver a whopping 95 Newton metres of maximum torque. At 2.9 kilos (manufacturer's specification), it is exactly on a par with Bosch and Brose. The power pack gets its energy from a fully integrated battery - a first for Flyer bikes with a Panasonic motor. With 750 watt hours, the Uproc X is also equipped for long tours. The lateral battery removal with Allen lock is easy to handle. Flyer relies on the FIT system for the remote and display, which also includes an app with extensive functions.

The facts about the Flyer Uproc X

  • Panasonic GX Ultimate Pro motor, 95 Nm
  • Flyer battery with 750 WH
  • Wheel mix: 29 inch front, 27.5 inch rear
  • 150 millimetres spring travel
  • Full carbon frame
  • Four equipment variants between 5199 and 9999 euros

The geometry of the Uproc X

One for all - this is how Flyer describes the orientation of the Uproc X. On the one hand, this means that the bike should not only excel downhill, but also uphill. The chainstay length of 460 millimetres is therefore significantly longer than the Enduro model. This should make steep climbs uncomplicated. On the other hand, the all-round concept also means that not only trail pros, but also comfort-conscious e-bikers should enjoy the bike.

Goroc X: Robust SUV with extra range

The Goroc X is the moderate brother of the Uproc X with full equipment. Ready for everyday use, easy terrain and perfect for moderate multi-day tours. The frame of the e-bike is visually similar to the sporty Uproc X, but is made of aluminium and designed for 140 millimetres of suspension travel and 29er wheels. Special feature: The Goroc X comes with an additional battery that can optionally be strapped to the down tube. 540 extra watt hours provide a full capacity of 1290 watt hours. This predestines the fully equipped e-mountainbike for long tours in moderate terrain. Thanks to the pannier rack, there is also enough storage space for multi-day adventures.

Models, prices and availability

It is pleasing to look at the price list, as affordable entry-level models have not been the strength of the Swiss premium brand to date. The Uproc X is available from 5199 euros. With a large battery and the high-quality full carbon frame, this is a very fair price. And there will be three more models for 6199, 7199 and 9999 euros. The Goroc X is available in three equipment variants between 5199 and 6499 euros, the additional battery costs 690 euros. The new bikes should be available from spring 2022.
