At Steppenwolf, you can put together the equipment according to the modular principle. For this test, the Munich-based company chose a composition to suit their taste. All the parts make sense and are functional, but there are no highlights - in keeping with the price. Steppen wolf has had the same frame in its programme for years. It is solid, has a contemporary suspension travel, but is quite heavy. At almost 14 kilos, you can't expect top performance uphill. However, the "Tycoon" is a lot of fun downhill, it has a handy geometry and sensitive suspension elements. You could get even more out of it with a wider handlebar.
CONCLUSION: Solid touring bike, but unfortunately too heavy in comparison.
TUNING TIP: Fit wider handlebars.
