If you don't fancy the annual model change mania, the Stumpjumper is a safe bet. The bike is almost a legend, shines with 26-inch wheels as well as in twentyniner format (both versions are available) and fits conceptually in almost any terrain. The long riding position gives the bike a sporty character, the cockpit is high due to the long head tube. The testers wished for a shorter, lower stem. However, this is the only criticism of the Stumpjumper, whose balanced geometry is a model for numerous other bikes. It's surprising how well the bike climbs (light aluminium chassis, light wheels) - it's not surprising that it can be confidently steered downhill in difficult terrain. After all, the product managers have made the Stumpjumper fun to ride (gearing, chain guide, choice of tyres).
Conclusion: a guarantee for trail fun even in the low-cost version. The Stumpjumper is a timeless fun machine.
PLUS Top geometry and handling, chain guide, well thought-out details, consistent concept
MINUS No telescopic dropper post, imprecise SRAM X7 shifters
The alternative
Same price, bigger wheels: The 29er Stumpjumper is also a great all-mountain bike, even if a certain amount of extra weight cannot be avoided due to the system.
