Specialised SJ S-Works
There is no better all-mountain sports bike. Specialized delivers a perfect performance with its top model. Cheaper alternative: SJ Pro model for 4799 euros.

At Specialized, the term S-Works stands for the best of the best. S-Works are the bikes of dreams and for most people this also means the price: Dream on! But the Stumpjumper really is perfect and became the test crew's favourite. You can tell that the bike was designed for the travel and not just arbitrarily fitted with a long fork because that's what's fashionable at the moment. Travel adjustment for better handling? Unnecessary. The geometry is successful, the steep seat angle helps when climbing, the long wheelbase when descending. The suspension is drive-neutral, there is no bobbing. The equipment also fits together perfectly. Super-light wheels, ergonomic cockpit, large brake discs - flawless. Sit on it and feel good is a worn-out slogan, but with the S-Works Stumpjumper it fits. The Brain system in the shock and fork works with high breakaway torque or completely open and active, depending on the basic setting. Unfortunately, you have to get off the bike to adjust the response behaviour, which remains the only point of criticism. The fork and shock come with a five-year warranty, subject to regular maintenance.

CONCLUSIONS: There is no better all-mountain sports bike. Specialized delivers a perfect performance with its top model. Cheaper alternative: SJ Pro model for 4799 euros.
