A very successful all-mountain bike with a wide range of uses that perfectly harmonises propulsion and downhill performance. Ideal for women looking for a bike for all conditions.

Specialised is doing something for women. Alongside Canyon, the Americans are the only manufacturer in the test to offer their women's model in more than just one equipment variant. In addition, the "Safire" has been specially tailored to the needs of women. Not a small men's frame, but a consistent in-house development. This can be seen most impressively in the top model "S-Works" with a lighter, women-optimised carbon chassis. But the mid-priced aluminium version in the test was also impressive. In addition to the changes in terms of geometry, the compression stage of the in-house damping elements is also adapted to the lower weight. The Brain shock can be set up to be either completely open with sensitive response behaviour or a firm rear end that only opens when required. The right setting for every taste. Despite its comfortable riding position, the "Safire" also impresses with its sporty propulsion. The central riding position and low bottom bracket ensure safe, fun-oriented trail handling. Other details, such as the comfortable but not too soft saddle, thin, easy-to-grip grips and a stem with adjustable angle round off the overall picture in a positive way. The rest of the equipment is not outstanding, but is in a good proportion to the price.

CONCLUSIONVery successful all-mountain bike with a wide range of uses that perfectly harmonises propulsion and downhill performance. Ideal for women looking for a bike for all conditions.
