It was clear that the three-inch wide tyres plus 150 millimetres of suspension travel would iron out all the bumps on the downhill trail. But we were surprised that the bike can also perform well uphill despite the 1x11 drivetrain. One of the reasons is the good traction of the tyres, which also saves power on the climbs - and in terms of circumference, the plus tyres come close to a powerful 29er. Nevertheless, the wheels are heavier, so you won't win the uphill classification, but you will have fun! Because the relaxed riding position on the bike means you'll always want to play, even on boring gravel roads. The details are also great: the tool and chain riveter are installed directly on the bike, the down tube is hollow. There's room for a spare inner tube, pump and rain jacket (SWAT).
Sissi Pärsch, BIKE test rider: Sit on it, feel good and immediately ride downhill a whole lot better: The Rhyme is the perfect trail bike. For a Transalp with long climbs, however, I would fit narrower tyres.
