Downhill, the Scott provides a lot of security and allows high speeds - just like a real all-mountain bike. However, it can't quite keep up with the downhill urge of its strongest rivals. The Spark suspension works very sensitively and is high in its travel, but the shorter travel is noticeable. The geometry is impressive: flat front, long reach, which gives a lot of security and very balanced handling. For a plus-size bike, the Spark remains very manoeuvrable and agile. The somewhat spongy ride feel remains. Uphill, the Spark is quite sporty, good for fast climbs and steep ramps. The suspension tends to bob when the shock is open, but thanks to the Twinloc lever, the fork and shock can be stiffened in three stages from the handlebars and the suspension travel at the rear can be shortened. The low bottom bracket provokes pedal bob in technical terrain.
Conclusion: Balanced touring bike with successful geometry and plus effect. A little heavy.
The alternative: The Spark 730 Plus is a whole 1000 euros cheaper. There are compromises in the fork and shock. The gears are Shimano SLX.
