Martial arts icon Jackie Chan is lightning fast, lively and efficient. Anyone who underestimates his abilities will pay for it immediately. If you pay 7299 euros for the top-of-the-range Spark model, you will experience for yourself what lightning-fast means. The 700 SL weighs just over ten kilos, thanks to its super-light carbon frame and wheels.
The Spark has continued its racing history since 2012 with a little more travel - travel that doesn't hurt, because you can select the desired comfort in two stages using the practical handlebar lever. The bike handles hard and soft, and all in all, the impressively sensitive suspension deserves the rating: first-class! You can launch the Spark 700 skywards like no other bike in the wild gang. Even with the slightest steering impulse, it makes hooks like a hoodlum on the run. The 34 mm chainring is appropriate here, as are the narrow saddle and racing tyres. A dream for all those who have no time to waste. In the case of the Spark, however, lively also means: watch out downhill! When you switch from a 29er, such as the BMC, to the Scott, you have to sharpen all your senses. It's not comparably plush, neither on the ground nor in the air (when you're sailing over small kickers) - unlike big bikes, you have to get by without ESP. Instead, reflexes are required. An old-school race bike - just like Jackie Chan, who does all the stunts himself regardless of the pain.
Conclusion Definitely one of the best race fullys on the market. But if you want to ride the Spark to the limit, you have to be an experienced rider.
PLUS Suspension and geometry adjustment, very light wheels, race-like riding characteristics
