BIKE-ASSESSMENT²: At Eurobike, Scott presented a "Genius" project bike weighing 8.9 kilos. We compared it with an almost standard "Genius LTD" with little tuning potential. Scott limited itself to small changes such as grips or aluminium bolts. With just under 150 millimetres of suspension travel at just over ten kilos, victory seemed certain. But the fork prevented the triumph. When lowered, it doesn't provide any suspension, thus limiting the rear triangle's ability to offer different suspension travel for different areas of use. Nevertheless, the "Genius" is probably the most capable long-travel marathon race bike in this setup.
CONCLUSIONS: Except for the fork, the epitome of the new All Mountains.
