As soon as the first spy shots were spotted on the worldwide web, there was a lot of whispering about Scott's latest offshoot with the familiar name Genius. The departure from the 26-inch wheel size and the centrepiece of the frame, the Pullshock damper, allows for completely new approaches. The fact that the resulting new frame - or rather the two new frames (29" and 27.5") - is strongly reminiscent of the current Stumpjumper 29er has been well known since the invention of internet forums. One could even speak maliciously of a copy. But why not? The Specialized Stumpjumper 29 S-Works presented last year immediately set the benchmark for all-mountain bikes with large wheels. Very light, superbly equipped, extremely wide-ranging and therefore at home on all trails. Unfortunately, it is also incredibly expensive at 7599 euros. It is not for nothing that the Stumpi 29 in BIKE 11/11 as the best all-rounder in the world. It shows what is possible so far. A damn good role model in the 29er segment. We were therefore curious to see what the new Genius 910 can actually do.
