Scor 4060 Z ST XT: Trail tip in the all-mountain test
Agile and fun, with a good range: the Scor 4060 Z ST is more of a sporty, potent trail speedster for experienced riders than a comfort tourer for leisurely excursions. The e-bike therefore wins the trail tip in EMTB 1/2022.

Attention fun guarantee! The young Swiss brand Scor focuses entirely on trail fun, downhill quality and good handling. And the developers have absolutely succeeded with the 4060 Z ST. No other bike in the Comparison test of all-mountain bikes up to 9000 euros in EMTB 01/2022 is so manoeuvrable, agile and fun to ride on the trail - without appearing nervous or unsure.

The Scor 4060 Z ST is easy to get onto the rear wheel and manoeuvre nimbly around bends. A real trail bike! With its 140 millimetres of travel at the rear, it feels a little firmer and more direct than some other candidates. But if you give the bike a good spur, you will be rewarded with a lot of riding confidence, even in enduro terrain.

The excellent rear suspension works in a very defined manner and parries even rough impacts with ease. Only 140 millimetres? Hard to believe. At the front, the powerful Fox 38 Factory completes the first-class chassis, and the robust tyres provide additional safety. The low weight is also decisive for the top handling. Despite the massive fork, sturdy tyres, inexpensive wheels and 726 battery, the Swiss bike weighs in at 22.6 kilos. A strong value!

There are deductions in the climbing classification. The short chainstays and the compact riding position (the bike feels small, very short stem!) cause the front wheel to rise early. Steep climbs require skilful physical effort. Positive: The rear suspension also works excellently uphill. It remains active when pedalling, soaks up bumps greedily and is still high in its travel. This provides a lot of traction on the rear wheel. The equipment lacks glamour, but is very well chosen. Too bad: Our test bike was very loud.

Hidden source of error: If cables and cables in the down tube are not properly routed and fixed, a plug is quickly pulled or a cable kinked. In addition to e-dropouts, there is also the risk of nasty rattling noises. Test summary of the Scor 4060 Z ST

The Scor 4060 Z ST is a sporty, potent trail speedster for experienced riders. Agile and fun like no other e-bike, also due to its low weight. Good range, but nothing for leisurely excursions.

Cheaper alternative: The Scor 4060 Z ST SLX relies on the identical full carbon frame and offers a fair package for 6299 euros. The suspension comes from Rockshox, but is no less downhill-orientated with the cheaper ZEB (38 mm diameter). The brakes are from the Deore range and the gears are a mix of SLX and XT. Solid. Scor claims the weight is only 300 grams more than the top version - still under 23 kilos.Photo: Scor,Hersteller Cheaper alternative: The Scor 4060 Z ST SLX relies on the identical full carbon frame and offers a fair package for 6299 euros.
