Whizzing through the S-curve or taking off on the wave? The R.X1 FS from Rotwild really invites you to play

The bike is fun to ride downhill. But the All Mountain from the German manufacturer also pedals effectively uphill, demonstrating the all-round characteristics that we want from a touring bike with a strong downhill performance. Touring riders sit quite relaxed on the Rotwild, the steep, long stem ensures a slightly high front end. The rear suspension is drive-neutral, hardly gets rattled when pedalling uphill and works sensitively. On descents, it offers plenty of travel and the plus on the rear wheel is pleasantly noticeable. The good rolling tyres also offer sufficient grip on the trail in dry conditions, but in combination with the narrow rims they reach their limits more quickly than more robust competitors. In addition to the balanced riding characteristics, the versatility of the Rotwild, which can be ridden with all three wheel sizes, is impressive. An angled headset and chainstay adjustment make this possible. The equipment level is rather low in comparison.

Conclusion: Playful, balanced, comfortable - a fun-orientated tourer that also holds its own on rough descents.

The alternative: The Comp model is already the cheapest in the line-up. The Pro version with 29-inch wheels and Shimano XT costs 4499 euros.
