CONCLUSION: Rotwild's all-mountain top model is a super-light luxury object for demanding touring bikers. More of a sports bike than a cruiser.

Rotwild's new lightweight all-mountain "R.GT2" has a feature that is rarely found anymore: It fits two bottle cages in the main frame. The low weight (second lightest chassis in the test) is also aimed at sporty use in difficult marathons or stage races. Other components, on the other hand, give the bike reserves for rough terrain: we voted the excellent Formula brakes the best choice for the application range, plus wide tyres and plenty of front suspension travel. The "R.GT2" combines the best of both worlds. Thanks to its low weight, nothing stands in the way of high speeds uphill, the riding position is comfortable and not too sporty. Both uphill and downhill, the DT fork, still a hand-assembled pre-series product, was not yet convincing. The lowering and adjustment sometimes worked well, sometimes not - a matter of luck. Only the suspension fork test with production models will allow a real judgement. Overall, the Rotwild suspension seems as if it was designed for shorter travel. This is indicated by the slack angles and the high bottom bracket. Flaw: For 6,500 euros, you'd want components with an image for the seatpost, handlebars and stem!

TUNING TIPTry it out: Ride fork with a lot of sag, damper with little sag.
