With its upright, relaxed riding position, the R.C1 from Rotwild is ideal for long tours. The sensitive Fox suspension ensures comfort and plenty of traction. The Rotwild climbs well without any noticeable influence from the drive and with only slight pumping when pedalling. The steep seat angle helps on nasty ramps with pressure on the front wheel. Despite the rather heavy frame, the overall weight is in the golden mean. Thanks to the functional equipment with Shimano SLX components. Downhill, the R.C1 is confident on the trails, but could be even more confident with a shorter stem and slightly slacker head angle. Due to the extremely long and protruding chainstays, the heel quickly grazes the neoprene protector. The massively scratched seat post casts a poor light on the otherwise flawless build quality. In terms of character, definitely more of a tourer than a sporty marathon bike. Only available up to size L.
ConclusionBalanced tourer with powerful chassis and good equipment.
