The testers liked the Lady in black straight away - especially because of its discreet look. Black frame with golden accents. But the classy look couldn't hide the fact that this bike wanted one thing above all else: to go downhill - and as fast as possible. But before that can happen, the 14 kilos first have to be transported to the summit.
But it's not so bad: the Fox fork can be lowered quickly and the sensitive suspension guarantees optimum grip, even when things get steep. The only annoying thing was the heavy Fat Albert tyres, which offered great grip but were also slow to accelerate.
The Verdita Green shows its true qualities on the downhill: The bike manoeuvres quickly and directly through narrow trails. The short stem, wide handlebars and moderate steering and seat angle geometry support the good downhill characteristics.
In terms of equipment, the bike is in the midfield: Syncros attachments and FSA cranks are the highlights.
Conclusion: A successful package for downhill-oriented all-mountain bikers. The bike would be less sluggish with lighter tyres.
