Yes, they still exist, the 26-inch wheels. Rose's Jabba Wood is actually still holding on to this wheel size, which has been widely spurned by the industry - and you know what? That's not a disadvantage.

Having fun with 26 inches? Of course you can! The Rose wins the competition on the scales, has a light frame, light wheels with fast tyres and the lightest fork. It also shines thanks to direct sales with great equipment. The chain hoist compresses the shock noticeably, so don't forget to tick the box for the remote control in the configurator - it's mandatory. On the other hand, the suspension shows zero pedal kickback in the small leaf. This will please all those who climb long mountains on the Lifebuoy. After all, climbing is in the Jabba Wood's genes, as is nimble singletrack surfing. Hardly any other bike in this comparison group is more agile. Plenty of travel, top fork!

ConclusionYes, the Rose rolls on 26 inches. And yes, it's still fun. The equipment and weight make it a tip for sporty touring bikers.

PLUS Low weight, customisation possible, remote control for shock absorber, lightweight wheels (26 inch!), lightweight fork
MINUS Drive influences, rear bobs significantly, 160 mm rear brake disc

The alternative
The twentyniner alternative to the Jabba Wood is called the Root Miller 2 and starts at 2149 euros in the configurator. The basis is the aluminium chassis with 120/130 mm travel. From 12.5 kilos.

Shadow Plus is the name of the small lever on Shimano derailleurs that increases the chain tension. On the Rose Jabba Wood, however, it hooks onto the frame.Photo: Georg Grieshaber Shadow Plus is the name of the small lever on Shimano derailleurs that increases the chain tension.
