At the same time, the end progression increases, which also adapts the suspension characteristics for tough trails with reduced pressure. The opposite happens with the pivot point further back: steeper angles for agile handling, a propulsion-orientated riding position and an optimum characteristic curve for plenty of traction on tricky climbs. For the trails in B. C., the kinematics are optimised for drive neutrality in the small chainring. A simple concept with a big effect.
An impressive 1.8° in the angles and 22.5 mm in the bottom bracket height lie between the extreme positions of RIDE-9 - values that clearly characterise the character of the bike. Rocky always assigns three of the nine positions to a weight class - but if you're looking for intermediate positions, you'll find them in the neighbouring class. RIDE-9 is very effective at tuning the bike's character according to preferences or trail requirements and thus expanding the range of use. Only the non-tool-free adjustment prevents you from using it more often on the road. To get the most out of the Ride 9 suspension, it is worth readjusting the air pressure when making major changes.
Ride-9 is all about a wide range of applications and character tuning. This is why it is preferably used in the mid-travel range - e.g. on the 29er Instinct (130 mm, seven models from 3400 to 9000 euros), the 27.5" All-Mountain/Enduro Altitude (150 mm, seven models from 2400 to 9000 euros) and the four carbon versions of the 27.5" All-Mountain Thunderbolt (120 mm, 4000 to 11000 euros).
